As a result, farmers began prioritizing apple cultivation over traditional crops, leading to a shift towards monoculture farming.

Over time, this heavy dependence on a single crop has made farmers increasingly vulnerable to fluctuating market prices, adverse weather conditions, and the negative impacts of monoculture.
